Exercise Taipan Detector 15 is an inaugural Certification Exercise for Explosive Detector Dog (EDD) teams. The exercise also aims to further develop inter-agency relations with Federal and State law enforcement groups, which includes EDD teams from Queensland Police, Tasmania Police, Australian Federal Police, Australian Customs and Boarder Protection Service and NSW Police.
Conducted at various venues throughout the ACT, the training carried out at Canberra's GIO Stadium was intended to train handlers, and their dogs, to perform clearances prior to the arrival of VIPs and dignitaries to an event held in a public environment.
