We continue training our puppies patience. New exercise.

Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUr54C7EXH8

In previous parts we taught our dogs to sit and wait until the command to eat is given. We also introduced some distractions to the dogs by moving back and forth next to the bowl.

This time we'll move away from the dogs sitting next to the bowl at a distance of about 5 meters (6 yards) and will command them to eat after about 20-30 seconds.

The aim of the exercise is to teach our puppies, that the distance to the master as well as master's absence means absolutely nothing. In the future we'll teach them to sit and wait even if they don't see the master. We'll hide round the corner and will swear them if they try to reach the bowl.

This kind of patience is especially important during hunting, when you need your dog to sit and wait while trying to reach the take or when dog's presence/movement may disturb the hunt.
