While cats in the wild expend a great deal of energy in hunting for food, indoor cats live in limited spaces and often lack physical exercise.
Normally castrated or spayed, they spend more than half their day asleep and play much less than cats with access to the outdoors. As a result, they expend very little energy in physical activity which can lead to health issues.
