Cat Exercise Wheel Training Using Treats (Age 6.5) [HD]

My 6 1/2 year old Blue Point Tonkinese female cat is being introduced to the Toy-Go-Round cat exercise wheel. I had to get my kitties accustomed to the way the wheel moves by tempting them to follow treats! (more...)

Not all cats take to running in the wheel immediately. In fact many cats need some type of training to get them started and are motivated in different ways.

I must have a couple of the few cats in the world that have no interest in laser lights to get them running! My two also prefer to ambush their teaser toys instead of following and chasing those.

My oldest one here in this video has never seen anything like this wheel and is a little wary to step inside. But within two days of practice, is becoming more confident and familiar with the way the wheel will move. She is still a bit apprehensive to climb in on her own, but she feels safe enough to take several steps at a time for the moment if I place her in there on my own. Based on her current progress, she should be just fine with it in just a couple more days.

I use one hand at all times to have control of the wheel so it doesn't begin to spin or rock back and forth when she stops walking or she begins to feel insecure and will climb out. The treats they eat are 100% protein, no carbs with no additives or preservatives.
