Thought since I worked so hard yesterday cutting back the swamp I’d go to the duck beach today and go for a spin in the kayak with the ducks.
Turns out the snapping turtle ruined those plans the ducks didn’t want anything to do with the water, plus a discovered a hurt goslings which I later couldn’t find.
Most bizarre thing later in the day when I was doing the chores I discovered a duckling that looks like someone had tried to cut it’s head off, which isn’t possible since it’s just Dug and I here.
It was so hot today the ducks didn’t really wake up till 5 pm from their day long siesta, it was 36°C in the shade today.
While I was working in the garden at the end of the day, I heard Dug barking in the bush and then he returned with a nasty surprise for me to deal with, he finally met a porcupine up close and personal like.
Ended up spending the rest of the night dealing with Dug’s problem, good news he only bite me a total of 10-12 times during the whole ordeal, but I’m not done tomorrow I have to deal with the rest of them in his mouth.
