Compared to last weekend's hatch this weekend duck egg hatch is a Mega hatch, it' going much better this weekend.
The attack victim Pekin duck is doing much better this morning, she even gave us an egg today, she is drinking water but not a lot of food yet. I can only speculate her neck is sore from the bite she got from the predator.
Worked on the garden today and it really caused me to be behind today on the duck hatch and sort of the new ducklings, didn't get back into the house until after 8 pm to start the duckling sort and rescue of what ever ducklings I need to help out of the shell.
About 10-15 duckling pip through their shells and died, not near as bad as last weekends hatch.
So far have only had 2 ducklings die in the trays after they hatched, and then at the end of the night when I was finally done sorting the ducklings I got a single Muscovy hatch out of it's shell, not all the way but he got his wing out of the shell.
Hopefully tomorrow I'm going to get a wave of Muscovy ducklings hatching...
And yes Dug was glued to me and the duckling during the whole sort, he's obsessed with the ducklings!
