How To Feed Water Birds.

For many years , going to feed the ducks , swans or geese has been a pastime for parents and children .By and large people love nature as it gives a feel good factor .However bread is dangerous in as much as it has no nutrients , causes bloating , attracts moulds , vermin and some pretty nasty sickness for the creatures . I have watched as people turn up with a huge sack full of old bread .This they tip on the towpath and into the water .The result is chaos and the birds get the blame .Oats are cheaper , small bits of green veg or salad chopped , seedless grapes halved .The choice here is varied and healthy and matches their natural way of eating .It is not expensive .A large carton of small seedless grapes cost £1--- Change the spot you feed , only give a few to each ..The birds will also feed for themselves ... After a picnic take your old stale food home with you or place in a bin .Don't make wild creatures junk eaters or dependent on humans ...
