I decided that recon would still be a good idea since I know there are 3 more coyotes out there for sure, this time I decided to go down the other side of the swamp and shoot the aerial grenade off towards my neighbours property to hopefully if anything is down there spooks them towards the creek from the direction I got the coyote last night.
It rained big time last night so the morning rush is up in the air if it’s going to happen with the predator action last night on top of the yard being so muddy this morning it’s a crap shoot if the ducks are going to do the morning rush for us to the lake.
Well the mud really distracts the ducks during the morning rush they aren’t that focused on their journey with all this mud to drill in, plus Dug disappeared and I was all by myself doing the morning herding.
Its unbelievable how short of memory the ducks have, last night their lives were in extreme danger in the creek this morning they are playing in the creek, really thick these ducks are.
Wile E Coyote the duck killer which I believe he’s killed over 150 of my ducks or about $3,500 out of my pocket is 44 lbs of extremely well feed dead coyote hanging in the trophy tree, but this trophy tree is farther away from my yard he’s going to stink for a while.
Dug gave me a hand with the feed run today, he waits for me to load the wheelbarrow but today he was actually grabbing the bags while I was putting them in the wheelbarrow he couldn’t wait to help me.
The rush home tonight I took the 22 cal rifle with me just in case, I know from up in the tree I can absolutely hit a coyote in the chest with it if one makes an appearance. The ducks were sort of freaked and kept going back to the lake during the rush home, so the filming got screwed up because of protection detail.
When the ducks finally made their way back on the rush home they were running like little scared ducks full speed, they were really worried little things.
Cripple duck made another appearance tonight at the end of the rush home, it still amazes me how fast she is going to the lake because I never see her but on the way home she is the last home.
The ducks were back in the yard at the end of the day and while I was inside editing last night’s mega episode of the coyote duck killer, I noticed the ducks losing it in the yard.
I threw on the Pivotheads and grabbed the shotgun and went outside to see if there was something and if there was I’m hoping to get a shot off that’s why I didn’t let Dug out, I didn’t want him to scare it off I wanted to kill it.
I swept the property and I couldn’t see anything so I let Dug out of the house to do his job, I’m starting to think it’s the wind and the coyote hanging in the tree that is causing the ducks to freak out tonight.
Ducks were so freaked out Dug and I couldn’t get them in the pen, they were scattered freaked out, later that night in the pen the ducks were losing it again like something was on the property.
