A couple more things, day old ducklings like the temperature at 90 degrees. The lamp should be around 18 inches above them on one side of the brooder. Adjust as needed. Reduce the heat by 5 degrees each week--sooner if they are inside. My ducklings were kept inside, and did not need the heat after 10 days old.
If you get your ducks in the spring, or live in a cold climate, I would suggest keeping them inside for the first couple weeks, but they will still need a heat lamp until they are older, depending on how cold your weather is.
In addition, after two weeks old, and a few days before you move your ducklings outside, or start supplementing with, grasses, grains, seeds, or bugs, sprinkle chick grit on their food. Use tiny grit for chicks and not adult size.
Lastly, when the birds first arrive in their brooder, quickly push the ducklings beak in their drinking water. When they tip and drink--they got it.
