Layla Feeding the Ducks & Wildlife Bread

Dislike 0 Published on 12 Apr 2014

Bread given to ducks and wild birds as a treat in moderation, is not immediately harmful to those ducks or birds. Uneaten bread can be unsightly and rotting bread can create noxious odours as well as lead to greater algae growth in the water. Other foods you can try are Grapes (cut in half to prevent choking), cracked corn, barley, oats, birdseed, or other grains. Also, frozen peas or corn kernels defrosted, there is no need to first cook.

Update: The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) said it was fine to feed small amounts of bread to ducks but people should also feed them sweetcorn, porridge oats, peas and bird seed. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-50081386
