I found out who is really eating my duck eggs today, I’ve seriously got to get the temporary nesting box done for the ducks or I’m not going to be getting anymore eggs.
The female Muscovy stayed the night with the 207 ducklings and no one got killed over the night so that’s a good thing.
It was so nice out last night the ducklings slept outside in the new lean too.
The geese have seriously taken over the ducklings, it’s actually amazing see them watch over the duckings.
Turns out http://www.freyshatchery.com is sold out of Muscovy ducks but what Ken is going to do is donate what ever he’s got left over from Muscovy, Rouen & Pekin hatches on June 23rd, there is a good we’re going to get about 20 of each the way he was talking. He made a mistake and thought he had some Muscovy available when I talked to him.
A great donation to the duck adventure so we can get some new blood into the flock, it’s looking like all the drakes are going to be made into ground duck meat.
