Early morning shotgun hawk recon, I heard the ducks freaking out in the pen so I thought I’d go out first and see if Mr. Hawk was waiting for the ducks.

The morning rush to the lake is getting so fast I can’t even get the camera mounted on the tripod to film the ducks going through the swamp they are getting seriously fast.

Some bad news today, handi-cap duck has got something wrong with her when I picked her up she puked all over the place and then I discovered a seriously wounded duck in the pen that somehow last nigh came back from the lake and was seriously hurt by a snapping turtle.

I thought I would get some time at the lake but with this heat wave we are having I lasted less than 3 minutes in the boat it was just too hot.

Did a recon down the creek at the end of the day to make sure no ducks were staying at the lake specifically the young ducks, got everyone back to the yard and then about 100+ ducks took off to the lake about 15-20 minutes before it got dark.

So a bunch of young ducks decided to be rebels and stay out all night after they filled their bellies with food.
