Nasty morning today -17°C with the wind chill I’ve got some serious scrambling to do today, I’ve got to come up with some shelter and bedding for the ducks to help handle this serious cold early winter weather.

Putting straw in the pen is huge make work project for me to clean up but I have to suck it up and make it comfortable for the ducks.

I’ve got a capacity for about 120 ducks in the winter maximum so 650+ is a serious problem, needless to say I’m seriously stressed out and worried sick over this whole situation the duck adventure is in.

The weather is changing big time in our favour on Saturday with a warm front coming in, they are calling for some serious warm weather although rain is forecasted with this really warm weather it’s much better than the sub zero winter weather we are getting now.

The Brant geese are still here which is unbelievable, I have no idea what these little geese are going to do when they can’t get any grass to eat I’m going to get some hay from my farmer next door for them if they are still here tomorrow.

I noticed predator tracks in the swamp on my way to the lake to get the rope for the sleigh to clean out the sheds of straw, it looks like coyote tracks again but the tracks turn around in the swamp and don’t come close the yard.

Dug or I must have been in the yard when it appeared and it turned around and left from the looks of the tracks, so now I have to be on the look out for the safety of the ducks.

It was a brutal day setting up temporary winter shelter for the ducks with one arm, my left elbow is now killing me I just can’t win
