The Universal MITA Anti Skid Device is constructed from a variable number of metallic plates and interlocking hooks to securely connect them around a tyre and form an arrow in the direction of travel. The plates are identical modules formed with raised elements to provide improved grip on snow and ice covered road surfaces. An incorporated strip impedes the hooks from disconnecting and also facilitates easy assembly, fitting and removal.
The two different lengths of hooks enable the chain to be adjusted to any length and therefore fits any size tyre from 13 to 23 inches in diameter. The device requires a common tyre tread pattern with a continuous groove around its circumference, either central or lateral, with a minimum width of 6mm and depth 4mm.
