growing duckweed tips and care guide duckweed is an easy plant to grow, it really thrives in any conditions. Duckweed is native to America's southern states. Duckweed really loves a 6500 k bulb i find that it grows best under 6500k this plant is almost impossible to kill. This plant is related to the frogbit of the amazon and dwarf water lettuce and the pond hyacinths and water lettuce it reproduces the same exact way under right conditions duckweed can and dwill turn red, you don't need high light or co2 as this is a floater plant getting direct contact with the light and co2 this is a great beginner plant and it is a great food source for many fish and animals goldfish koi and carp will eat it and love it certain other fish like rainbows and other fish will munch on this, one time i didn't feed my fish for a week and my duckweed was gone because the fish used it as a food source haha thats funny but thats the beauty of a planted tank, you can also use this as a food source to ducks geese chickens and rabbits
