Brooding Muscovy and Ancona Ducks on pasture

If one of our hens, be it chicken, duck or turkey, goes broody we allow her to stay on her nest. She will then incubate the eggs, hatch them and raise the young, all on her own. This was the case with this muscovy hen. They are really good mothers and take great care of their ducklings. They will also easily accept ducklings from other mothers or that we had incubated ourselves, which is why you'll notice that the hen in this video actually has ducklings that range from 3-5 weeks old. They're not all hers, but she loves them all equally.
This video describes how we raise our ducklings on grass and it shows the mother hen feeding with her ducklings. It shows how they are raised in the A-frame until they are old enough to be transitioned to the open range with the main flock.
