It's a sad day on the Duck Adventure today, Ms. Icecovy update isn't a good one after all this time. Her left leg has developed paralysis now and she can move or walk around, this sucks big time.
I've got some serious work ahead of me, I've got to rearrange the pen so the ducks are separated by breed so I can mate pure breed ducks for the first wave of ducklings hatching.
It was strange today the chickens were the first ones to come out of the pen first today when I left the gate open for them.
We've got a serious spring melt on plus over 75mm or 3 inches of rain is on the way to us, so we've got some serious flooding coming soon here.
The swamp super highway is opening up and the water is starting to show in the swamp, the lake is still frozen solid so it's going to be at least another 2 or 3 weeks till the lake is open water for the ducks.
Egg recon today I got 34 ducks eggs, duck egg production is getting very serious now won't be long and it will be 40 eggs per day or more.
After close inspection of Ms. Icecovy the female Muscovy duck that got frost bite this winter she has green diarrhea again, this means she's got the infection again. I've tried my best to get her back to health but she just keeps relapsing back to sickness. Poor little lame duck, she hasn't eaten or drank any water in over 24 hours.
Unfortunately it's time to say goodbye to Ms. Icecovy.
Strange today none of the ducks wanted to come out of the pen, only the chickens wanted to come out of the pen when I left the gate open.
We've got some +24°C forecasted with some -10°C coming the following days, only spring weather can give you such swings in the temperature like this.
Finally some ducks came out of the pen later in the day took them forever today to come out and have some fun in the yard.
Tomorrow the drakes are going to get their freedom back
