After a few really nice days and waking up today to +6°C & rain the weather forecast is warning for a flash freeze with windchill in the -35°C range again, so I had to scramble to deal with all the slush around the property before it turned to rock hard ice.
Went in to see my Vet and got some proper antibiotics for the Muscovy duck frostbite treatment, couldn't find maggots in town which I really wanted to give that a try but at least I got proper antibiotics now.
Went down to the barn to check on the ducks and everyone was inside doing to some serious courting and mating, the Muscovy males are really starting to get active with the Muscovy females which is really neat to see how they co-operate with the males but yet if they Pekin & Rouen drake try anything the females beat them up.
Tonight with the windchill I'm only turning on one heater element of the quartz heater so it doesn't get too hot in the barn like the last time. ----------------------------------------------
