Ms. Icecovy is doing a lot better now; she is now walking all over the hospital and seems to have snapped out of the brooding routine.

Typical spring weather nasty freaking cold during the night and it takes it's time to warm up during the day if it does at all, today it's was -18°C and windy when I got up and it is not even suppose to warm up much, but the sun feels nice.

Went out to do the chores late today 10:30am and the ducks weren't even outside they were still hanging around inside the barn, that's how cold it was out the ducks didn't even want to come out side.

Egg recon is still way down only 11 duck and 5 chicken eggs today a touch more than normal but still not a good haul, in April once the ducks are finished moulting they are going to pump the eggs out.

One thing I've noticed the last 10 days is the volume level of the female ducks is getting louder and louder, my ears actually ring if there are too many of them close to me quacking, it's like they're going into heat and the quacking is their way to let every one know it's time to mate.

I went down later in the day to see the ducks and check on their water and it still hadn't warmed up, it was -16°C at the house and -13°C at the duck drake shed, plus a nasty wind.

Very soon the drakes are going to get back with the female ducks; the day is coming very soon.

Even though the ducks aren't enjoying the cold and they are avoiding it by staying inside, a fresh batch of water in the bath tub they just can't resist, it's like Christmas fresh clean water in the bath tub is like new straw in the barn.

Now spring is so close the crows are starting to gather around my property like they do every year but it's strange the ducks don't seem to care about the crows they look at them but don't panic, not like last week when a big hawk was circling above the property that freaked them out.

By the end of the day it had warmed up to -12°C, a far cry from being spring, the Muscovy drakes at the end of the day were sunning themselves in the west corner of the pen, it's so funny they keep their distances from each other but all of them were in that corner getting the end of day sun.
