Today is the day that the Pekin female duck with the eye sinus infection goes back to the flock, she is completely healed up and her wheezing is completely gone now.
Ms. Icecovy the Muscovy female duck with the frost bite feet and botulism is improving but she has got a long road a head of her, she is standing sometimes on her own now but she is still very unstable.
Today is actually the first day that she has stood up on her own, plus during her bath today she actually did clean herself in the warm tub of water, which is the first time in 5 days since she has been sick that she has cleaned herself in the water.
I've been under the weather the last 3 days so not much has been going on her except taking care of the ducks and trying to rest when I can to get my strength back, it feels like I've hit some kind of physical wall with my body. Almost feel like I'm getting a cold or flu but my body is fighting it off.
When I took the nasty female eye infection female Pekin duck back out to the flock I couldn't believe how soft her feathers were, velvet soft I almost wanted to cuddle her on the couch she was so soft.
She is so happy to be back with the flock you can tell she basically quacked non stop when I started taking her to the pen and when she got in the pen she got louder, telling all her friends she's back.
Egg recon has sucked the last 3 days not even getting 8 eggs total a day from the ducks, I've noticed more and more feathers around the barn and pen so more ducks have to be starting to molt.
Pretty soon the drakes will get reintroduced to the females so we can fertilize the female's eggs, it's a matter of maybe 10-14 days.
Later in the day I went to check on Ms. Icecovy the sick female Muscovy duck with botulism and frost bite feet and she hadn't eaten or drank anything in over 6 hours, so this means I've got to force feed her again and get some liquids into her.
I had a conversation with the Vet and he agrees if I wasn't force feeding her and getting the liquids into her she would be dying a slow death, so I must continue on and not give up on her. ----------------------------------------------
