The first 24 hours since the Hypothermia incident for Ms. Gimp the duck and she's suffered some serious sneeze attacks, I'm worried she might be getting a cold.

On the 2nd day of Ms. Gimp the duck in the hospital she has seemed to have developed some sort of respiratory problem, she is doing some wheezing when she breaths. This is something I've got to deal with right away, after close inspection I think she's got something stuck in her nostrils. Ducks need to be able to dunk their heads in water to clean out their nostrils.

If a duck can't clean out their nostrils and are eating a grain based diet they can actually get a yeast infection, which is exactly what Ms. Gimp the duck doesn't need to deal with.

The amount of feather Ms. Gimp is losing during her moult is crazy, she's like a Husky dog shedding fur feathers everywhere, you can't handle her with feather falling off everywhere.

Before I started my day outside I knew I had to take care of her and get her into some water to see if washing her nostrils out would help her breathing.

Ms. Icecovy really doesn't like when I look at her nest, she gets quite pissed at me, but today she's got a double yoke egg in her clutch of duck eggs, now we might have twins coming to the nursery soon from the double yoke egg.

Today the ducks really wanted out of the pen so bad they almost rushed me to get out when I went into the pen to change their water, I ended up letting them out and got a partial Morning Rush out of the pen today.

Drakes are getting a kiddie pool to play in today, turned out they had very little interest in it. All the drakes could focus on was the females running around the yard outside the pen, it was driving themselves nuts.

The chickens even came out for the Morning Rush and ended up going right under the truck for a sand bath, the warmer weather and the dry spot under the truck gave them a place for a perfect mid winter sand bath.

All day while I was doing all the duck chores outside, the female ducks were courting me none stop all-day, every time I got near them they started their mating quacking it was quite funny.

I had to clean out both buildings today so the ducks would have dry clean straw for the next couple of days, we've got a serious winter rain storm coming and the weather has warmed up so the feces in the buildings has gotten soft and it's really messy. I wanted the ducks to have a clean dry place when the storm hits to take shelter, it's about to get really messy and wet here.

It's so funny to watch the ducks get new straw it's like Christmas for them.

The Muscovy drakes stayed inside mostly today, it's strange the female Muscovy spend most of the day in the pen but the drakes stay in the shed I don't know if it's out of sight out of mind, maybe this is how the Muscovy drakes deal with being separated from the females.

On the other hand the Pekin & Rouen drakes drive themselves nuts at the grid watching the females.

Today I'm sick of shovelling duck feces, after 4+ hours and two buildings I've had enough of duck poop for the week.

It was strange today the Muscovy female ducks never left the pen, even though the Pekin & Rouen females toured all over the property, I don't know if the Muscovy females were just enjoying the peace and quite of having the pen to themselves.

The duck hospital is seriously stinky even though I'm cleaning it out daily the smell since I brought Ms. Gimp is takes your head off, nasty smell in the back room.
