Something I've never done before my first time eating a Goose egg, I've never ate one before in my life so I'm excited to try something new. The egg was huge in a 10 inch frying pan it was over 80% of the pan, the yoke was the biggest I've ever seen.
Today the ducks are ignoring me, it's strange how some days they go crazy when they hear my voice and some days I get the cold shoulder, women you just can't figure them out some days.
It looks like a feather pillow fight in the pen, the wire in the pen is covered in feathers the edges of the pen there is a serious amount of feathers collecting from the wind, and the big moult is on. Once this moult is over the drakes are going to get re-introduced to the females so they can start breeding and I can start collecting the fertile eggs for the incubator's arrival from China.
When I was in the barn doing the egg recon there were serious feathers in the barn also, I'm willing to bet this is the final moult before the big egg laying rush takes place. Only 10 duck eggs today, they have to be from the female ducks that went through the moult last month.
After I scrubbed and cleaned the bath tub today the tub hadn't even filled with water yet and the Rouen females were in the first ones in the tube of course.
It might be warm out but the wind is nasty cold, my face got so cold my lips were frozen and I could barely talk on camera today, spring is the most mixed up time of the year for weather.
Went to my neighbours today to get some hay and when I filled the hay dispenser in the pen the ducks rushed it, I wish I would have had the camera on, it was so funny watching the ducks all in a row making a run for the hay.
Ms. Icecovy the frostbite victim Muscovy female duck her feet are really healing well, they look rough but they are definitely improving, she is on the road to recovery. She is starting to moult the back room is full of feathers, the hospital is full of feathers, when she was in the bath tub cleaning herself the feather are flying off of her.
The ducks are not answering me again today, but once I started talking to the camera they really got loud it's like they are jealous.
We've got a weather warning in effect here, they are calling for a big snow storm to hit us, normally March is a big month for snow so this is just normal stuff.
Haven't seen Ms Gimp in over a week had me a bit worried at first but it turned she was fine, just laying low I guess.
Ms. Nasty the eye infection duck looks fantastic, and of course she avoids me when I try to get near here.
At the end of the day when I was filling the bathtub with fresh water the ducks started to pile into the tub as soon as I started to roll up the garden hose.
