Well last night was even colder than the night before, first thing in the morning when I went out with their first of many pails of water today it was -28.6°C but inside the barn it was +4 °C.
They went through 6 pails of water in a 10 hour period, 30 gallons I forgot how much they drink since I got the garden hose set up out side for them I haven't pailed water so today my memory got a refresher.
Even as comfortable and safe it is for them in the barn they are starting to get stressed in the barn, I can see it the way they are acting Cabin Fever is starting to set in.
It's so cold the steel in the wire fence is contracting and twisting and causing dead shorts with the electric fence.
Turns out the radio test I did which I thought might calm them down was a bad idea it made them louder.
They are trying to get out of the barn now, they keeping going into the exit tunnel and pecking at the bail of straw I've got blocking it.
But even with the increased stress levels of cabin fever the now stop courting of the females towards the males is causing most of the noise, the females seem to be really interested in the males being locked up in the barn.
Another Muscovy frostbite treatment, but I've got a bad feeling it isn't going to work. ----------------------------------------------
