The Rouen is a heavyweight breed of domesticated duck raised primarily for decoration or as general purpose ducks, since they are not prolific egg layers. The breed originated in France sometime before the 19th century.

Le canard de Rouen est une race de canard élevé en Normandie depuis de longue années. Il est issu de la sélection du canard colvert en vue d'augmenter son poids. On distingue le Rouen clair du Rouen foncé, celui-ci étant issu de la sélection du premier par les éleveurs anglais.
