Once again the cold weather returns, -24°C wind chill was -31°C ducks woke up late today they stayed in the shed.
Made a new cover for the bath tub to keep the ducks out of it during the extreme cold, I had an old kitchen counter top it was the perfect size.
The ducks were coming out of the shed only to get hypothermia cold cramps in their legs.
I had to actually lock them in the building by blocking the opening so they couldn't get out, when I did let them out they had a serious feeding frenzy. After which they went back into the building on their own.
I put heat lamps in the building to help them stay warmer in the shed but not too warm as to cause the snow to melt and then get wet.
I went back to check on them at 7;30pm and a Muscovy drake was sleeping outside, i got him back in the building with the heat lamps, it' was -25°C outside. ----------------------------------------------
