This is how we groom our dog Percy the Black Labrador Retriever. With grooming, we recommend you make it a fun relaxed environment for your dog. Be gentle and patient and do not scare your dog as a lot of the grooming is initially unusual to them. Like it is with children.
Let them sniff the products you are using so they know the smell. Have some fun with them and groom them in areas where they feel safe and relaxed such as the garden.
It is always a good idea to brush their coats regularly and also look after their teeth. A dog can not tell you when they have a toothache or when they are feeling a bit off.
