How to Dematt a Dogs Ear | If badly matted shaving the ear is the best method.
Cutting the mats vertical wise to make smaller mats then use thinners under the mat and do a few snips. Use a slicker to brush out. Check with comb.
Products to loosen mats can be used but may not work.
The dogs skin was not scratched or red after and his ear hair was shaved.
Saving hair on ears is s better option than shaving because when an ear is shaved the dog will repeatedly shakes its head and a hematoma can form which is not something to look forward to.
