Conditioning Your Puppy for Grooming, and General Handling of Feet, Ears, and Teeth

Teaching our dogs to accept being handled is such an important thing for them to learn. It makes going to the vet or groomer a simple chore rather than a nervous fight.
We use the exact same marker concepts to check the dogs teeth, look in his ears, grab his collar and brush our dog. We break the task into small part and mark/reward each step along the way. In the short video below you will watch Cindy handle Meru using markers. This only needs to take a couple of minutes every day for the dog to accept being handled. This is something we will do for many many months.
