How to Groom Around the Eyes of an Uncooperative Dog

This is a video clip of Basil, a timid and hyper Yorkshire Terrier, who has already found his forever home through FurKids (Small Dog Rescue) - the day after we groomed him!

We decided to make this clip because several people have asked what to do when your dog does not sit still when trying to groom the areas around the eyes. This seems to be a popular question, not only from questions from our live Q&A show (Ask Jun the Groomer), but also from emails and messages from social media as well. Because this is such a sensitive area, with a high potential for serious injury, it is a scary situation for everybody. There are so many ways to go this, strategically speaking. We just have to think creatively. But I believe that the most important part is to remain Calm, Confident, and Compassionate. What I call, the 3 C's of Grooming.
If you'd like to learn more I included the 3 C's in my book, 4 Steps to a Beautiful Groom, because I believe they are essential qualities that we must cultivate within ourselves in order to become better groomers - and better people too.
It's also on my blog as a 3 Part series:
