Animal Kingdom Pet Store forgets to feed their dogs

This was filmed Sunday February 21, 2010 at the Animal Kingdom Pet Store at the Superstition Springs Mall. One window display had no food in the dog dish and the store closed at 6pm. This was filmed 30 minutes later. They won't open up again until the next morning. So these dogs will go about 15 hours without food in addition to how long it has been since they were fed the last time. In the larger window display the dogs did have food but it was buried under their own urine paper. The food dish was in the same area that the yellow paper was. The food dish needs to be accessible and away from urine and feces.

What is the saddest off all is this is the window display for Animal Kingdom. In other words this is what they want to portray as the best of their best. How are the other pets treated in the cages in back?

Pet stores get their pets from puppy and kitty mills. These businesses mostly located in the midwest run large factory like facilities in which the dogs and cats spend their entire life in cages for the sole purpose of mass producing pets. They receive little or no vetrinary care. Just google puppy mill or kitty mill to learn more.

Never buy a pet from a pet store. You can get puppies and kittens at the shelter. You can even get purebreds from rescue agencies. Do the research. If you want a particular breed go to http://www.petfinder.com and you can find a dog or a cat of either sex and just about any breed.
