Date: 23 December 2015
Place: Zimanga Private Game Reserve, South Africa.
Short description: We were following the pack for about 3 kms, they had just killed a warthog but left the sub adults to feed so after observing the warthog carcuss for a bit we caught up with but went slightly ahead of the adult dogs, as we stopped the vehicle we saw they had managed to get hold of 2 wildebeest, one we suspect was the mother of the one they eventually finished off. The mother wildebeest managed to break free from the grasp of the two dogs and run away at which point they all got hold of the one younger wildebeest and brought it down. The struggle didn’t last very long but it felt like forever! But in the end they got to feed all 14 or so mouths.
