Woman Sells Off Jewellery to Feed Dogs

Nilanjana Biswas, 45, from Kalyani which is a city in West Bengal’s is a very unique woman. This woman sell off her jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh and took a loan worth Rs 3 lakh. With all this money she is now taking care of 400 stray dogs in her area. She went against her husband and did all of this. Biswas roams around on her scooter and looks after the dogs. She does everything for the dogs. She feeds them, gets them vaccinated and does everything to keep them healthy and safe.
When she was asked why she did this, she said, “I have always loved dogs. I have 13 dogs at home and 12 of them are street dogs. But I realized that I have to take care of other dogs as well. This is why took a loan sold and sold my jewellery so that I have money to help dogs. Biswas is also very careful about hygiene. She first places few plastic utensils along roads. Then, we pour chicken and rice in the utensils and water in separate ones. They always make sure to clean the area and the utensils after feeding them. She goes all over the city and spreads awareness suffering of animals during Diwali, holi, etc.
