Use a prescription diet to dissolve smaller struvite urinary stones

This veterinary educational video gives the owner an alternative to surgery when his dog suffers from struvite urinary stones.
If the dog is diagnosed with struvite urinary stones, the Science Diet Prescription Diet S/D and C/D is recommended to be fed to the dog. A gradual increase in the new diet is advised as very few dogs will eat the new food immediately.
Only smaller struvite urinary stones can be dissolved using special diets. Large struvite, oxalate and other types of stones will need to be removed surgically.
