Canine Kidney Diet Recipe

This about a weeks worth of food for an 8 lb & 16 lb dog.
Correction! That's 5 lbs of Sweet Potatoes. I use about 12 eggs for this recipe.

I've started leaving the eggshells on when I blend the food.
When considering whether or not to use eggshells or eggshell powder I use this reference from Canine Kidney Health:
For a phosphorus reading below 7 the calcium binders, such as powdered eggshells should suffice.
You can add 1/3 teaspoon powdered egg shells to each meal as a phosphorus binder.
If 7+ then we normally recommend that aluminum hydroxide is the most efficient.
When cooking meals for your dogs you need to add vitamins. I use the Dog Greens they sell here http://caninekidneyhealth.com/products.html.
I hope this helps someone. Since switching my dog from prescription K/D wet food to home cooked meals he no longer dry heaves, hesitates to eat, or takes acid reflux medication!
