Slow Feeding Bowls Offer Enrichment for Bored Dogs

As a pet sitter, I am always looking for simple solutions to keep my guests comfortable and entertained. One type of dog that can offer a surprising challenge is the middle aged dog that is not one to play with toys (some do, some don't). In hard weather, such as Midwesterm winters, they can become particularly bored so any enrichment that takes advantage of the activities they normally do, like eating, helps keep them entertained. My little friend here is demonstrating a slow feeding bowl. He could eat his half cup of food in no time flat if offered in a regular bowl, but this feeder takes him several minutes to clean.
