When a dog eats too quickly, it can result in choking, gagging, and vomiting. It can also cause a dog to swallow excessive air, which can cause bloating.
Spreading out your dog's kibble is the easiest (and cheapest) way to slow down your fast eating dog. Take your dog’s daily meal and spread it out across a smooth surface. You'll find your dog's eating slow down. To make it harder, sprinkle his kibble across a large rug, so he must hunt through the fibers. This makes a great rainy day game for dogs as well.
