It is a great idea! As long as you will be committed in taking care of the dog as a new part of your family, why not? You will also save the dogs’ lives and give them the love they deserve!
WHY STREET DOGS?
First, they are smart. They can even open or jump over a tall fence. Second, they can easily adapt to new situations and conditions. Third, they are not picky about their food. Fourth, they still like to wander on the street even though he already lives in our house.
Things you should consider though, street dogs are mostly not in their best health condition. There is a big chance that you have to spend money and take them to the vet to check their vitals (fleas and ticks, parasites, heart worm, etc) and give them vaccinations. If they have any health problems, it might require you extra money.
The first few weeks (sometimes even months) could be hard because it is the bonding time and traumatized dogs will need more time to bond with their new owner. But it doesn’t mean that it is impossible. Just be patient, don’t be aggressive. The dogs will start to approach you when they are ready.
