How To Take Care Of Your English Cocker Spaniel’s Ears

Dislike 0 Published on 2 Apr 2017

English Cocker Spaniels were originally bred as gun dogs, and as such have a lively, active disposition. They are loyal pets, who tend to form strong bonds with their humans.

In this video, Michelle describes how to care for your English Cocker Spaniel’s ears, teeth and coat. She is joined by Gabe and Finlay, the English Cocker Spaniels who live with their humans - Michele and her husband Mike. Michele shares with us her experience of the breed, particular care of their trouble-prone ears.

English Cocker Spaniels are vulnerable to ear infections because of their long, hard-to-clean nature. Michelle describes her program of weekly care, and what has worked for her dogs.

She goes on to describe how she looks after Gabe and Finlay’s dental health. The more healthy your dog’s teeth, the better their overall health.

Michelle also touches on the topic of grooming your English Cocker Spaniel’s coat, and what has worked best for her, in both England and Arizona. Different climates have necessitated difference approaches.

Michelle has had a lifelong love of this breed, and her canine companions have walked beside her in good times and bad. She finds the temperament of English Cocker Spaniels to be loyal, cheerful, and above all, loving.
