Back in January 2006 Dandie Dinmont Terrier Breeders and enthusiasts from all over the world converged on Coventry, England for a breed crisis meeting called Dandie Dinmont -- from Vulnerable to Viable to discuss the decline in the breeds world wide population and how this could be address in the future to ensure the long term viability of this delightful breed of dog. The event received national publicity and the lovely Emma Massey filmed a short piece for BBC Midlands Today TV. The piece was great fun and Emma took Margaret Russell's lovely mustard dog, Fergus to a Coventry shopping centre to see how many members of the public could identify the breed. The fact that no one could emphasis just one of the problems the breed has to face up to, that of not being a very well known breed like (say) the Westie. This short film also shows what good natured, affectionate, Happy and attractive dogs Dandie Dinmont Terriers are.
