In a move to prevent infliction of any cruelty against animals, the central government has proposed the implementation of "Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, (Dog Breeding and Marketing) rules 2016".
Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave has said that under the new norms, dog breeders and marketers will now have to register themselves with state Animal Welfare Board and also maintain proper records regarding purchase, sale and rehabilitation of the canines, among others, to make them accountable.
Non compliance of these rules will lead to cancellation of registration of the dof breeder.
So if you have The Lebra or The German Shepherd at your house, you better be ready to get it registered.
