Brachycephalic breed dogs banned from flying in Australia

Dislike 0 Published on 24 Jan 2020

Two major Australian Airlines virginaustralia and qantas have now banned brachycephalic breed dogs from flying.

Brachycephalic means "shortened head" and refers to the short nose and flat face of dogs such as Pugs, ShihTzus, Chihuahuas, ChowChows, Pekingese, LhasaApsos, BullMastiffs, EnglishToySpaniels, Englishbulldogs, Frenchbulldogs, Bostonterriers, boxers, cavalierkingcharlesspaniels, and some breed mixes of those mentioned here.

Dogs that have this condition typically snore loudly and breathe noisily. They may also be prone to reverse sneezing or tracheal collapse. Because of their breathing difficulties, these dogs tend to have a low tolerance for vigorous exercise and are highly susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

So if you own a breed mentioned here, and now need to leave them behind, and need a Pet Sitter to care for your fur baby, while you travel, we can help!

Head to PetCloud: https://www.petcloud.com.au and post a job. This will send out an alert in a 25km radius and available sitters will apply.
