Dog behaviour: pre mating rituals

I find all aspects of dog behaviour fascinating. However, sexual behaviour in dogs is something that's interested me, not sure of that's weird! This behaviour between my own dogs is really interesting. Elsa is spayed therefore no risk of pregnancy. Manny is entire, currently. We do have a bitch in season in the house atm so the pheromones she is omiting may well be contributing to this behaviour, despite the fact it is aimed at another dog. Note the way Manny tries to initiate play, and promotes sniffing of genitalia...potentially to insight sexual interest. Sexual preference in dogs is something that was documented in studies by Ian Dunbar. I would love for him to dedicate a whole seminar to sexual behaviours alone. #hereshoping
