Number 10. Lagotto Romagnolo
At the tenth spot, we have a vintage, seventies style, Italian dog breed.
It looks like it cannot see you, but is very difficult to ignore its captivating mojo. The
Lagotto Romagnolo is a very rare breed, named after its place of origin, in
Romagna, at the southeast of Italy.

Although Lagotti were originally bred as water retrievers, they have also been
known as proficient truffles hunters too. Some get confused by their teddy-bear
looks and underestimate them. However, the Lagotti is a very hard-working dog,
full of energy, with a very sensitive nose.
Sure, they are adorable and they have an amazing coat that feels more like hair
than fur. So, if you are not after truffles, you can just cuddle it a bit a have a good
time with your Lagotti, and take care of its diet and exercise so it doesn’t get
overweight.

Number 9. Mudi (pronounced Moodie)
At number 9 in our list, we have a dog with a heart larger than itself, prone to
heroism.
The Mudi was originally bred in Hungary as a herding dog but currently, it is bred
for work, show, and companionship as well. One of the most versatile dog breeds
ever, it is intelligent, agile, and alert.
Known as a friendly farm dog, Mudi is brave and strong, which are proved qualities
as a shepherd and as a search-and-rescue missions expert.
Although the Mudi is a very able dog, it is too very playful and is a great flyball
and Frisbee partner.
For sure, the Mudi can be a loyal friend and has enough energy to play, be a
hero, and be a very keen guard, if you need it to be so.
Number 8. Puli
If you don’t mind dealing with wooly dreadlocks to comb, but you consider yourself
a gifted dog grooming expert looking for a challenge, our eighth spot is for you.
Although it might look woolier than sheep, the puli is a herding dog, raised
originally by Asian nomads. They are nimbler than you might think and they are
full of energy, which made them gain a reputation as proficient acrobats!
Yet, they create strong bonds with their owners and are known for their loyalty,
intelligence, and home-loving habits, as well.
Number 7. Peruvian Inca Orchid

At the seventh spot, we have a very peculiar dog, named after an exotic south
American flower. We cannot tell why, because it is not that beautiful, but this
list is about rare breeds, not pretty ones, right?
Talking about its great features, the Peruvian Inca Orchid is a smart, agile, and
swift dog that developed in Peru. It is a sighthound and can be found in three
different sizes: small, medium, and large; but always with a strong, lean body.
One of its most striking characteristics is its coat, that can come hairless or
with a very thin one.
