SWAP TV is a half-hour documentary television series for tweens. In each episode, two kids with very different lives swap places and live in each other's shoes for an entire weekend. There's plenty of laughter and learning as the kids are faced with many challenges throughout the "swap" experience.
In each episode, the two swappers will introduce themselves in their own environment so viewers can get a sense of the context from which they came and the change of pace that they are about to experience. Then the swap begins. Each kid packs his/her bags and heads off to spend an entire weekend in his/her fellow swapper's life. Each swapper will spend the duration of the weekend undertaking the same activities as the person whose life he/she is “swapping”. For example, in one episode, a child from a trout farm in rural Renfrew County swaps lives with a top show dog breeder. While one is learning how to canoe, the other learns how to groom Maltese puppies. In another episode, a competitive wheelchair athlete trades places with a budding magician!
