Winter Chicken Feeding

Dislike 0 Published on 29 Jan 2013

When temperatures get down into the teens during the day and night, I add warm water to the chicken pellets to form a mash with a little added corn grit. The mash encourages the chickens to eat because the pellets get really hard in the cold. I also trade out their water dishes each day because fresh water is a necessity even in the cold. In the video are 3 golden comets; they are very reliable egg layers in the winter. There have only been a few days where I have received 2 instead of 3 eggs.
