Feeding wholegrain bread to my chickens

I feed my chickens a varied diet including layers pellets, mixed corn, fruit and vegetables and potato peelings that have been boiled to be pallatable and give extra protein. I also get day old bread from my local shop that is sold cheap - there is nothing wrong with it and if I don't have my own 'Bloomer' bread I will eat it but mainly the birds get it. With brown bread it is ok to give to the chickens as is but if feeding them white bread you must make it wet first as it is very doughy and could choke them. You must also consider the fact that white bread is not very healthy for humans so why give it to your chickens anyway?***
