We have done a practical to produce maggots / Larvae of a simple housefly to get feed for our chickens at free of cost.
You need only 03 items for this practical:
1- Leftover of Cotton Seeds (Khali / Khal) easily available at the market.
2- Water.
3- Bucket.
Put Khalin into the bucket after splitting it into pieces allowing Khali to soak as much water which leads it to rotten, after 24 hours flies are attracted towards your bucket and laying eggs over it which will hatch in next 24 hours, after 72 hours you can see larvae into your bucket let them gain size and then they will be ready for your chicken :).
