I'm not sure if the handle is leaking, or if it's condensation on the underside of the lid, but either way, this works. I had noticed that the feed was getting wet always right in the middle of the trash can. So I placed the feed backs in as a first solution, and then decided to set the can in too. And I"m glad I did! The can was over half full of water when I shot this video, and since then we received two more pounding rains, so I imagine it's near full again. That's a lot of high dollar chicken feed I saved!
The more I think about it, I think the handle is probably leaking. But I can't see an obvious hole, and you'd think for there to be this much water it would be a pretty big hole. I didn't use a plastic can for fear that rats my chew through it.
