Increasing the Profitability of Village Broiler Chicken (Tok Pisin version) - PNG NARI

Dislike 0 Published on 1 Oct 2016

Improving the profitability of village broiler farming through the use of locally available feed resources has been identified by NARI to be the highest priority initiative in the PNG livestock sector. This sub-sector produces about 6.7 million birds per year valued at A$67M, using high genetic potential birds and commercial feeds. The future viability in the regions is threatened by rising costs of imported ingredients for the commercial feeds.

The video demonstrates step by step process of producing broiler feeds using sweet potato or cassava with high energy and low energy concentrates. The technology, funded by ACIAR was released to PNG farmers in 2011. This is the Tok Pisin version.
