My long haired cat has a terrible time with hairballs. I had been looking for a good brush to use to thin out her coat. I had tried several things that didn't work well. The Shedmonster de-shedding tool for cats is pretty incredible. My cat Katie has a love/hate relationship with it, but it really helps to loosen up her undercoat and removes a lot of hair that otherwise she would be swallowing when she grooms. Not to mention the hair she sheds and leaves behind on the furniture. I usually only brush her in the laundry room to contain the hair, but for the sake of making this video, I chased her around and did the best I could. I don't hold her down or irritate her with it, but I do try to brush her a little a couple times a week.
I definitely recommend the Shedmonster for cats with long hair. It would probably work well with a cat having a medium thick coat as well, but it doesn't work as well with a short coat.
